March 22, 2024 – Armada Music, the world’s biggest independent dance music label, has further solidified its position as an industry frontrunner by clinching the prestigious fan-voted Label Of The Year award at the Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs). This marks the first time the label has picked up the award since the EDMAs’ relaunch and the expansion of its categories in 2022.
Expressing immense pride in the win, Maykel Piron, Armada Music's CEO and co-founder, said: "We are deeply honored to receive recognition at the EDMAs this year, and the fact that it's fan-voted makes it even more special! We were told we got 1.3 million votes this year, so it's truly fantastic to have this strong community of fans very much alongside us on this remarkable journey."
The award serves as a testament to the remarkable achievements of Armada Music over the past year. Among these accomplishments are the monumental milestone of Lost Frequencies' ‘Are You With Me’ surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify and the global resurgence of Mason vs Princess Superstar’s ‘Perfect (Exceeder),' which re-entered the Official UK Top 40 Charts and debuted on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The label has also completed several prestigious signings in the running year, including a career-defining dual record deal with Armada Music and Kontor Records for Lilly Palmer and a long-term deal with Will Clarke. Armada Music also been celebrating its twentieth anniversary since last year June and launched BEAT Music Fund, the first dance music investment company, to further cement its reputation as one of dance music’s top players.
Armada Music co-founder Armin van Buuren also picked up the award for Best Radio Show for A State of Trance, and the label secured six additional nominations in various categories: Dance Radio Song of the Year, Dance Electro/Pop Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Music Video of the Year for Loud Luxury, Two Friends and Bebe Rexha’s ‘If Only I’, and Dance Radio Artist and Producer of the Year for Armin van Buuren.
