September 12, 2023 – Independent dance music label Armada Music today announced its partnership with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) which will see the first ever DJ sets to be performed in one of the airport’s 360-degree-view watch towers.
Techno pioneer Joris Voorn and trance legend Ferry Corsten will each perform a one-hour set as part of the label’s flagship livestream series ‘Armada In The Mix’, that will be broadcast via Armada Music TV on Wednesday October 18, 20:00 CEST. The inaugural event marks the beginning of the label’s ADE program, titled ‘Welcome To Our Home’.
Maykel Piron, CEO and co-founder of Armada Music said, “We wanted to go all out for ADE this year, especially with it being the Armada’s 20th anniversary. It’s not every day that our artists get the opportunity to perform in one of the world’s most famous airports, and what better way to commence our biggest ADE program to date!”

Playing on the theme of ‘Welcome To Our Home’, the label is running a competition to give six fans (per performance) the opportunity to attend the recording. Competition links and more information can be found below. Tickets can be won in pairs.

Hailing from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Ferry Corsten’s illustrious career is exemplified by a passion for music that began as a hobby and spiralled into a full-blown profession, as he continues to push the boundaries of trance music as much today as much as he did in his fledgling career. This is highlighted by his latest project UNITY, a concept launched in 2018 that will see Ferry collaborate with iconic trance acts throughout the year with the vision of uniting the Trance community for a bigger cause. Ferry has partnered with VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, an organisation formed to reinstate music programs for children, which has helped 2,100 schools to date. The first of these collaborations came in the form of icon Paul Oakenfold, a track that Billboard hailed as the “perfect starting point for UNITY”, following up with collaborations with the likes of DIM3NSION, Jordan Suckley, Saad Ayub and most recently ‘We’re Not Going Home’ with Ilan Bluestone, with more high-profile UNITY collaborations due imminently moving into 2019. This project follows on from Ferry’s 2017 sci-fi concept album ‘Blueprint’, a full length for which Ferry worked with House Of Cards screenwriter David H. Miller to complete, and which includes narration from Amazing Spider-Man and Exorcism Of Emily Rose actor Campbell Scott. 2018 also saw Ferry place in DJ Mag’s Top 100 poll for the 8th consecutive year, rising 15 places and extending his ranking as the longest serving Dutch DJ in the poll, capping what was an impressive year.

Born in the Dutch town of Tilburg, the son of a composer and a music teacher, Joris gained international recognition with his debut ‘Muted Trax’ EP on Keynote which was quickly followed by his universally acclaimed ‘Lost Memories’ release on Sino the following year. The follow-up ‘Lost Memories Part 2’ in 2004 included the standout track ‘Incident’ which became an immediate and firm fixture in the sets of many of his now-peers including Carl Cox, Derrick May and Laurent Garnier.
