Armin van Buuren en David Guetta zetten dancewereld in vuur en vlam met allereerste samenwerking: ‘In The Dark’

Amsterdam, 12 juli 2024 – Armin van Buuren en David Guetta, twee van ‘s werelds grootste dance-artiesten, hebben zojuist de dancescene op stelten gezet met hun allereerste samenwerking. Hun langverwachte single, ‘In The Dark’, werd vandaag uitgebracht op Armada Music, slechts enkele weken nadat de dance-iconen de track voor het eerst draaiden tijdens hun tweede back-to-back-set ooit bij een van David Guetta’s wekelijkse “F*** ME I’M FAMOUS’-shows in Ushuaïa Ibiza.

‘In The Dark’ is een opzwepende anthem die de kenmerkende sounds van Armin van Buuren en David Guetta combineert met de krachtige teksten van tweevoudig Grammy-winnaar en songwriter Aldae. De track werd gemaakt tijdens een gezamenlijk studiosessie in Los Angeles en belichaamt zowel hun gedeelde passie voor muziek als de bemoedigende boodschap dat die ene speciale persoon jouw licht in het donker kan zijn.

Armin van Buuren en David Guetta zijn logischerwijs geen vreemden voor elkaar; beiden staan al jaren aan de top van de dance-industrie en kwamen elkaar al talloze keren tegen op het livecircuit voordat ze in 2022 voor het eerst gezamenlijk optraden tijdens een van David Guetta’s “F*** ME I’M FAMOUS’-shows op Ibiza. Enkele weken terug trakteerden ze hun fans op een tweede back-to-back-set, waarin ze voor het eerst ‘In The Dark’ draaiden. Ondanks dat Armin van Buuren en David Guetta muzikaal niet dezelfde wegen bewandelen, zijn ze altijd verbonden geweest door hun liefde voor muziek, wat hen nu eindelijk heeft samengebracht voor deze debuutsamenwerking. 

“David en ik zijn al jaren bevriend en wilden al langer samenwerken”, zegt Armin van Buuren. “‘In The Dark’ is een speciale mix van onze stijlen, en ik hoop dat luisteraars kunnen voelen hoeveel bewondering we voor elkaars werk hebben. Deze track zou ook niet mogelijk zijn geweest zonder de ongelooflijke talentvolle zanger en songwriter Aldae.”

Direct na zijn epische back-to-back-set met Armin van Buuren in Ushuaïa zei David Guetta: “We komen uit verschillende muzikale richtingen, maar onze passie brengt ons samen!”
