Few people have been able to achieve global success so early on in their careers, but L.A.’s Brando has never been one to color inside the lines. Drawing inspiration from the numerous musical influences he indulged in throughout his formative years, the California native was a major force behind Canadian-born duo, Loud Luxury's, massive hit ‘Body’, which was inducted into Spotify’s illustrious BILLIONS CLUB for exceeding the milestone number of one billion Spotify streams. Since then, the singer and songwriter has collaborated with artists such as Don Diablo and Matoma whilst furthering his solo output with recent pop-infused singles such as ‘Saturday Night (Feel The Groove)’, ‘Sunday Monday’, ‘Do Me Like That’ and ‘Burn It Down’.
‘Look Into My Eyes’, his late-2020 flip of Charles & Eddie’s ‘90s classic ‘Would I Lie To You’, perfectly illustrates his unique artistry in today’s scene. Part of his 2022 EP ‘Slip N Slide’, which flaunts over 120 million streams on Spotify across six tracks, the record spent ten weeks on #1 in Australia’s airplay chart to dethrone The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ as most-played song of the year, and entered the Spotify Top 200 in Australia, Austria, Germany, Sweden and New Zealand. ‘Look Into My Eyes’ clocked up over 71 million streams on Spotify alone, plus a further 18 million via a remix by HUGEL & Hugo Cantarra.
With his own life experiences as valuable input, his songs tend to be grittier and more down-to-earth than your average pop song. “I want to convey a new sound that bridges the gap between RnB/pop and dance music,” Brando explains. “I was still committed to being a RnB/pop act when ‘Body’ began rising up the charts. With the song's continued success, dance music has influenced my taste more and more to the point where it has become a part of my style.”
