Chicane (Nick Bracegirdle) has been a mainstay in global electronic music culture sinceestablishing himself with the seminal ‘Far From The Maddening Crowdsin 1997. Following suit with breakout album ‘Behind The Sun’ in 2002 (and its Remastered Anniversary Package in 2020), LPs such as ‘Somersault’ in 2007 and ‘Giants’ and ‘Thousand Mile State’ in 2010, as well as 2015 album ‘The Sum Of Its Parts’, U.S. and U.K. #1 charting album ‘The Place You Can’t Remember, The Place You Can’t Forget’ (2018) and 2021’s ‘Everything We Had To Leave Behind’, the British dance music pioneer has fashioned a flawless, hit-filled album discography alongside an array of noteworthy singles spearheaded by his globally chart-topping single with Bryan Adams called ‘Don’t Give Up’.

Never one to cool or pander to the latest vibe, Chicane has worked with a host of eclectic artists over his twenty-plus-year career. The roll call of names is diverse and impressive, ranging from Bryan Adams, Sir Tom Jones, Natasha Bedingfield, Adam Young, Cher, Kate Walsh, Christian Burns, Paul Aiden and Lisa Gerrard to new and up-and-coming artists such as the Maltese singer Joseph Aquilina and Icelandic band Vigri. It all reflects on a strategy of not being pinned down in one place.

Born in Chalfont St. Giles, England, Nick Bracegirdle was very quickly acknowledged and applauded for supplying the chillout soundtrack to the seminal and – as some say – greatest Ibiza period, with 1997’s ‘Offshore’ and 2000’s ‘Saltwater’ becoming the aural backdrop to the Ibiza of sunsets and sunrises. There are, however, two sides to Chicane: the records and the live performance. Over the last fifteen years, the standard and excitement of the Chicane shows has grown and the live shows permeate the very essence of what Chicane is all about: people sharing a unifying moment together through music, no matter what age or culture they belong to.

Over the past twenty-two years, Chicane has played in every continent around the globe at legendary festivals such as Glastonbury, V Festival and Australia’s Stereosonic, all the while powering out hits such as ‘Offshore’, ‘Saltwater’, ‘Don't Give Up’, ‘Stoned in Love’ and ‘Poppiholla’, and juxtaposing them with the more esoteric and loved tracks from the eight studio albums he has released to date. Sun:Sets, Chicane’s award-nominated podcast and radio show that got its own mix album offshoot two years ago in the form of ‘Sun:Sets 2019’, has 10,000 downloads per day and is syndicated to over 76 radio stations with a reach of just under ten million listeners. A mixture of music, fun and gossip, the show is increasingly popular in the United States. In addition to all this, Chicane started a monthly online TV show halfway into 2019, which is available by subscription.
