January 20, 2023 – “An artist on the rise”, “a force of nature” and “at the frontline of everything that’s hot right now” are just a handful of comments from various industry tastemakers (respectively Danny Howard, Marc Rebillet and Mark Knight) about rising star Carly Wilford. Having turned heads with releases on labels such as Toolroom over the past two years, the UK-hailing house DJ and producer now takes the next step in an exciting career with ‘The Awakening’, her debut release on Armada Music’s house pillar: Armada Subjekt.

Soundtracking the parties that get increasingly hazy over time, ‘The Awakening’ sees Carly Wilford put out a banging, late-night-meets-early-morning house anthem. Already road-tested at Ministry of Sound and Glastonbury, this track is designed to keep clubbers going beyond the break of dawn.

Sunsets and sunrises have come to define some of our most memorable nights out, from watching sunset sets with the artists we love to leaving a club as the sun comes up before heading to the afterparties. The Awakening’ embodies those transcendental moments when you’re somewhere between being wide awake and drifting into another reality, either deep in the rave at 5 a.m. or lying in bed as the sun starts to break through the gap in the curtains. This track is for the ravers, for the nights where the music talks more sense than anything else and for the mornings that bring the answers. Carly Wilford

After learning to produce in lockdown, Carly Wilford is quickly becoming one of the most promising

new names in dance music. Her recent releases 'Burning Night and ‘Sky High’ were heavily backed by

Radio 1 gaining ongoing support from Sarah Story, Danny Howard and also becoming Jaguar’s ‘Dance

Floor Moment’. After stand out performances at Glastonbury Festival and in Ibiza this summer, her high energy sets bring forward a new wave of house music whilst honouring the very roots of the scene she grew up raving to. Starting out as a Presenter, her early career saw her take over the airwaves on the Rinse FM Breakfast Show before taking bold steps to become a respected DJ and Music Producer.

In 2023, Armada Music launched BEAT Music Fund, the world’s first dance music investment company, that acquires catalogs with the mission of honoring, representing and reinvigorating them. BEAT’s portfolio will continue to grow; in the first six months following its launch, BEAT acquired the catalogs of, among others, electronic music star ARTY, house and techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, legendary NYC-based house label King Street Sounds and chart-topping producers Chocolate Puma.
